Kevin Blake is a professional actor, writer, director, and educator whose work spans theatre, film, television, and arts education. For more than two decades, he has worked with students and performers at a wide range of ages and experience levels, helping them develop both their craft and their confidence.
His passion for teaching comes from a belief that great acting training should challenge students artistically while providing the support and encouragement needed to take creative risks and grow.
Professional Actor
Kevin's career as an actor spans theatre, film, and television, providing him with firsthand experience in the craft he teaches.
Throughout his career, he has performed in classical works by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen, and Shaw, as well as contemporary plays, films, and television productions. His stage work includes originating roles in world premiere productions, giving him the unique experience of helping bring new characters to life from their very first performance.
In film and television, Kevin has worked alongside accomplished actors, directors, and writers. These experiences have reinforced the importance of preparation, collaboration, adaptability, and storytelling at every level of the profession.
As a working actor, Kevin understands both the artistic and practical realities of performance—from auditions and rehearsals to character development and professional expectations. Educator & Teaching Artist
For more than two decades, Kevin has used theatre, storytelling, and performance to help people grow as artists, communicators, and human beings.
His teaching experience includes more than ten years at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, instruction at professional acting studios, and educational programs serving students of a wide range of ages and experience levels.
Beyond traditional acting classes, Kevin has spent years using theatre as a tool for learning, dialogue, and personal growth. Through workshops, improvisation, role-play, and facilitated performance experiences, he has worked with students, educators, nonprofit organizations, and professional audiences across the country.
For more than fifteen years, he also performed a facilitated one-person theatrical experience exploring the roots of prejudice, using storytelling and audience dialogue to encourage reflection, empathy, and meaningful conversation.
Whether teaching acting, facilitating workshops, or leading discussions, Kevin's goal remains the same: to create environments where people feel challenged, supported, and empowered to grow.
Creating Stories
Kevin's work extends beyond performance and teaching into writing, directing, and artistic leadership.
Throughout his career, he has written plays, screenplays, web series, children's books, and educational content, while directing stage productions, films, digital media, and live learning experiences. His work has ranged from creating original stories and characters to developing theatrical programs designed to engage audiences in meaningful conversations about identity, communication, and human behavior.
As an Artistic Director, Producing Director, and founder of theatre organizations, Kevin has worked from both sides of the creative process—helping bring stories to life while guiding artists, productions, and collaborative teams toward a shared vision.
These experiences deepen his understanding of storytelling and give students insight into the creative process from multiple perspectives—as performers, creators, collaborators, and leaders.
